Refugee & Cultural Outreach
Involuntary displacement is a problem all over the world these days, and the Syrian conflict has made it more present than ever.
This is why the Christian Medical National Movements in the Nordic area, Western Europe, The Balkans, North & South America, is organising a one-week event for training and refugee related work in Lebanon for people interested in this challenging field.
The trip will have a hands-on approach, where lectures on culture, history, tension in the area, religious conflicts, extremism and special health needs will be combined with medical outreaches to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
The training is directed towards students who have finished the first 3 years of school, also to junior doctors/dentists and finally to young specialists.
The roles in the outreaches will be matched to the participants' clinical skills and experience.
The week will also include excursions to the biblical sites of Lebanon such as the cedars of God, the famous town of Zahle, the North by the sea & a tour of Beirut old town.
The logistics & training will be arranged by a team of local Christian Medical Doctors contacts working alongside international experienced volunteer leaders.
The trip all in all and especially the lectures, are chosen carefully to match foreign healthcare professionals expectations and we aim at a well-functioning outreach program operating within an existing local framework.
The project will kick off on Saturday morning August 05, 2017 and will take an end on the afternoon of Friday August 11, 2017. It will operate mainly between the capital Beirut and Byblos, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world...
The cost will be 700€ for students, 800€ for juniors/residents & 900€ for graduates.
This will include training, accommodation, meals on full board basis, airport pick up & return, daily transportations for the whole week, the cultural tour and all touristic activities.
Places are limited to 30 participants maximum, so book your spot the soonest by sending a clear e-mail to the organising team. See you there...
